The Delta Saloon: History & Elegance

Delta Saloon History

Our History

Virginia City is a town of relics & memories & ghosts of the past. At the Delta Saloon we love to share the history and make new memories with all of our customers.

In the mid-1800’s, Virginia City was one of the most important cities between Denver and San Francisco, due to the wealth of the silver mines and dedication of the miners and prospectors that arrived in the city from all over the world.

Of the 100 Saloons in Virginia City the Delta was the most famous for its gaming room where Bonanza Kings bucked the Faro. It is known $38,000 was lost on the turn of a card. “Rocky Mountain”, now known as “21” or “Black Jack”, was played then as now with a slight variation of rules.
